Charity News

In our latest online competition, we're inviting you to get creative and design artwork to feature on some of our clothing merchandise.

We currently have a range of promotional items available at http://store.fairlybelovedrabbitcare.org featuring our charity colours and logos.  We want to expand this range to offer  more effective campaign message for the rescue service, and more importantly for promoting positive rabbit welfare messages.  An example of the kind of thing we're looking for is our latest design featuring Cotton & Bobbin.

The charity receive a commission on all sales from the website, so this is an excellent way to support the rescue's work.

We want you to submit your designs throughout June, and our Facebook community will vote for their favourite designs.

Designs can be digitally created, or hand-drawn (no larger than A4 size).  If you can save your artwork or scan it electronically you can enter the competition online at http://www.fairlybelovedrabbitcare.org/competition.

You can also mail your entries to us at Fairly Beloved Rabbit Care, T-Shirt Design Competition, Enterprise House, Southbank Business Park, Kirkintilloch, G66 1XQ.  Make sure you include your name, address and contact details with your entry!  Once we receive your entry we can upload it into the competition for you.

Entries and voting both open from 1st June 2013, so get your design up quickly to be in with a chance of attracting the most number of votes.  The competition closes for entries and voting at midnight on 30th June 2013.

The 5 most voted for designs will then be converted in to clothing designs, and will be available for sale on our clothing website.  Winners will each receive  free t-shirt featuring their winning design.

It's absolutely free to enter, and you can enter as many design as you like, so you've nothing to lose!

All artwork submitted must be original, and you must own the images included in the artwork or have written permission to use the artwork specifically for the purposes of this competition.  Full competition rules and terms & conditions can be found here.

We hope you enjoy the competition, and wish all entrants the best of luck!

During Rabbit Awareness Week, we asked members of the public and our supporters and followers to vote for their favourite photos in our competition ""I Kissed a Bunny & I Liked It"".

The competition ran with two categories:

  • Best Bunny Kissing Bunny photo
  • Best Bunny Kissing Human/Other photo

We are delighted to announce our two winners:

Carol Boxall's photo of two of her rabbits, Eddie & Haribo, was voted as the winning photo featuring bunnies kissing each other.  Grooming in this fashion is very natural and common with bonded rabbits.  Recent research has also shown that a bonded pair can spend up to 90% of their time in body-to-body contact with each other.

As well as Carol's prize, her rabbits will now feature in some of our future promotional posters for adoption and most importantly promotion of the importance of keeping rabbits in pairs or small groups.

Carol got Eddie & Haribo from her local rescue service in the south of England.  They live in the house with a ""rabbit flap"" that leads out to their warren outside.

Our other winner is Eleanor Griffin, pictured here with her rabbit Jack.

Eleanor's photo will also be used in our adoption promotions, and will be used alongisde other materials to remind people that their rabbits need attention, love and interaction.

Jack, who was an 8 year old rabbit, sadly passed away the week after the competiton closed.  Eleanor was keen that we continue to use his picture as a fitting tribute to the love and care she lavished him with during his time with her.  It was Jack that gave Eleanor a passion for rabbits, and she now has a number of her own rabbits and fosters for Fairly Beloved Rabbit Care too.

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos to the competition and took part in the voting throughout Rabbit Awareness Week.

We will very soon be launching a new competition inviting you to design some promotional merchandise for us.  More details to follow, so watch this space for your chance to take part and win.

On the lead up to Rabbit Awareness Week, we've been asking members of the public to submit their favourite pictures of their rabbits in our ""I Kissed A Bunny & I Liked It!"" competition.

Winners will receive a 1-hour outdoor photo shoot, and their winning photo will be used in our adoption campaign posters.

Voting is now open and WE NEED YOU to vote for your favourite photos.
